The last couple years, FAU has continued their growth at an unbelievable pace. A new on campus stadium, a former golfer in the US Open, the President of the United States on campus and now yet another huge milestones for the Owls. The latest accomplishment comes in the form of an Olympic athlete as former FAU Cross Country runner Manny Huerta will represent the United States in the Triathlon on August 7.
Huerta was an Owl for the 2002 and 2003 Cross Country seasons, his 16:05.59 time in the 5k was a mark that stood as the FAU all time record for nearly six years and is still the 2nd fastest time in FAU history.
Elsewhere in Boca, current swim assistant coaches Oliver Agh and Lara Preacco both have Olympic history. Agh represented Hungary in the 92 and 96 games and Preacco represented Switzerland in the 96 games.
