A little bit of love goes a long way. The Owls continued to beef up their Offensive Line by getting a commitment from Miami Coral Reef OL Jakobi Smith. The 6’3 270 lb big man was only recruited by FAU but Smith said that the Owls “showing a lot of love” pushed him towards Boca Raton.
Smith was hosted by Mustafa Johnson when he took his official visit to Boca Raton. Johnson who joined the Owls last year as a JUCO transfer started right away and became one of the team’s leaders under Coach Pelini, he also was a great influence on Smith.
“He inspired me a lot, he came from a small area and that’s just like me”
Smith knew a little bit about FAU before committing but that comes from the other sideline. Smith’s Uncle played for FIU and Jakobi says he has already started trash talking the former Golden Panther.
