The spring of 2013 is going to be an interesting one for FAU. With Graham Wilbert graduated, the Owls have a wide open race for the starting QB position. Add Boyd Anderson QB Greg Hankerson to the mix of young men that would like to compete for that job as he officially committed to the Owls today.
Hankerson said that the FAU is a “good opportunity for me to play”. He also said that coaches have told him that he is going to get the chance to be the starting QB for the Owls next season.
The dual threat QB isn’t wasting any time in getting comfortable with the Owls offense. Hankerson was hosted on his official visit by the Owls leading WR from last year, Willie Dukes. The two who both played High School football in Broward County have plans to work out together this Saturday.
Boyd Anderson like FAU uses the spread offense and Hankerson says “its like the same offense.” The Cobras had six players sign FBS Letters of Intent today, with players going to Alabama, Marshall, Idaho, Western Kentucky and UCF in addition to the Owls.
Despite being from just down the road Hankerson said he really didn’t know much about FAU until they started recruiting him this summer. Hankerson also had an in-state offer from Bethune Cookman.
