Sometimes it’s not what you do, but who you know. Knowing the right people has brought a couple of Linebackers from prep school in Phoenix, Arizona to Boca Raton, Fl to play for the Owls. Andrew Curtis and Robert Relf out of Phoenix-Brophy Prep sent Letters of Intent to FAU today. The duo who over the past year haven’t exactly been playing football down the street from FAU were found due to connections from the state of South Dakota.
FAU Graduate Assistant Jimmy Rogers spent the 2010 and 2011 season a GA for South Dakota St along with OL Coach Luke Meadows. Rogers while at South Dakota St was recruiting LB Robert Relf but things ended up falling through. Rogers still liked what he saw in Relf so he showed some film to the FAU coaching staff after that as Relf says, “it all just fell into place.”
Relf is excited about on and off the field happenings at FAU. The 6’3 220 pound LB says that “he feels big things are going to occur in the future at FAU.” He is also excited about the opening of the new business building on campus.
Both players are scheduled to arrive on campus in late July but are working on getting down to Boca sooner to learn the system a little quicker.
