Two to Grayshirt

Feb 06, 2013 -- 9:39pm

By Brian Rowitz

FAU fans and coaches wrap up National Signing Day with visions of how the newest signees will perform in an Owls’ uniform. For some commitments though the waiting process before they take the field is a little bit longer than others.  Jacksonville-Mandarin WR Kamrin Solomon and Pensacola-Pine Forest RB Rashaad Lee will both grayshirt and will wait until January to take their scholarships.

Both will take the grayshirt for different reasons but neither will be in a rush to get to Boca Raton. Lee will be taking one due to the fact that he just recently had knee surgery while Solomon will be taking his as he tries to grow into his body a little more. Solomon was just 17 years old when he committed to the Owls so the coaches thought it would be best to let him try and sit out a little bit longer before joining the team.

Solomon has said that he has the utmost trust in the coaching staff and knows that Coach Sims has his best interest in mind. Solomon says that in the meantime he will do whatever it takes to stay in shape and stay around football, with high school or little league coaching being an option.
