One of the strongest traits needed from a recruiter is the ability to close. For FAU Coach Carl Pelini he might be able to go the baseball approach and make a call to the bullpen for his closer. If he makes that call then it would be in the form of FAU’s number one Receiver Willie Dukes. The Owls leading Receiver from a year ago has been instrumental in closing the deal on a number of FAU recruits. Dukes hosted Boyd Anderson QB Greg Hankerson on his visit and the two are already planning on working out with each other this upcoming Saturday. Dukes also will get an assist in getting Neptune Beach-Fletcher WR Kalib Woods to make his pledge to FAU.
“Watching his [Dukes] highlights, we almost play identical and seeing his body build it’s the same as me and that gave me even more confidence” said Woods.
Woods who played both football and basketball in High School says that on the collegiate level pursing basketball is possible but that for now he is going to stick
with football. If Woods decides to go that route then WR Coach Jeff Sims might be able to provide a scouting report to Coach Jarvis. Woods’ said that Coach Sims was at all his basketball games during the recruiting process.
