Boyton Beach's Jessamen Dunker arrested on grand theft auto charge

University of Florida offensive lineman Jessamen Dunker, a Boynton Beach High School product, has been arrested on a felony charge of grand theft auto.

Dunker, a freshman at UF, was booked at the Alachua County Jail at 12:01 p.m. on Wednesday, facing the automobile theft charge, a third degree felony. He was driving with a suspended license, a second degree misdemeanor.

According to Thomas Goldkamp of 247sports.com, Dunker was riding on a tagless scooter that was reported stolen from just outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

At 6'4" 301 lbs., Dunker went to Gainesville as a highly-touted prospect after an eye-opening preps career at Boynton Beach under head coach Rick Swain. He committed to the Gators in March of last year and was an early enrollee last January.

This is not Dunker's first run-in with the law while attending school at UF. He was issued a citation for not wearing a seatbelt in late November, an incident that allegedly resulted in Dunker directing expletives toward law enforcement. A University police officer was subsequently put on leave for not filing a police report on the citation in a timely manner.
