Kelvin Taylor is following in his father's footsteps. Today, the Glades Day running back verbally commited to the University of Florida during the Gators' Junior Day. His father, former NFL standout Fred Taylor, also played his college ball in Gainesville.
Taylor, who was deciding between Florida and Alabama, said Thursday in an interview with ESPN 760 that he wanted to get the decision out of the way so he could focus on his senior season at Glades Day. Taylor also said that he would like to enroll early in college and is taking extra classes over the summer to allow him to do that.
The junior running back has been one of the most heralded football players in Florida high school history, breaking Emmitt Smith's state rushing record earlier this year.
