Oxbridge Academy issued a serious statement in its first-ever district game.
Facing small-school power American Heritage, the Thunderwolves pounded their way to an impressive 24-7 victory. Oxbridge Academy's interior defense put up a herculean effort, holding the Stallions' powerful ground attack to under 100 rushing yards.
Offensively, star running back Travis Homer carried the ball 35 times for 148 yards in the victory. Junior quarterback Angelo Navaroli came through in the clutch for the Thunderwolves, connecting with wide receiver Trey Green for a 30-yard touchdown strike on 4th and 7 to help seal the victory for the Thunderwolves.
With the win, Oxbridge now sits in the driver's seat in District 7-3A. The Thunderwolves, who play in a three-team district, will face Cardinal Newman on October 29th in its final district contest.
